Daily life in Bogotá invites people to experience places like shopping malls, as their design and accessibility have contributed to the development of quality of life, offering innovative experiences and generating well-being in the city.

On April 28, 1976, Unicentro opened in Bogotá, a commercial development built by the firm Pedro Gómez, located in the Usaquén district, on a 126,000 m² plot of land that years earlier had served as a barley field.

With Unicentro, the concept of urban development that integrated housing, commerce, recreation, work, and services in large cities arrived in Bogotá and the country. A new style for commercial activity was introduced in Bogotá, with Unicentro becoming the model for developing similar projects.

At the time, Unicentro was the largest shopping mall and the only one that, for the first time, brought together Bogotá's leading retailers under one roof. Furthermore, it was the first commercial establishment to implement the comprehensive urban development system in the capital and practically the pioneer of shopping malls, as there was no precedent with similar characteristics. Today, at Unicentro Bogotá, you can charge your electric vehicle while you shop. The mall has two parking spaces located at entrance number 2.

For four decades, Unicentro has marked a milestone in the modernization of shopping malls and, therefore, of commerce in Bogotá. Since its opening, Unicentro has become a place to meet with family, friends, or partners, schedule business appointments, shop, have fun, enjoy entertainment, and savor incredible restaurants. Its distinctive slogan, "See you at Unicentro," has been a hallmark for three generation.
