The Nemesio Camacho El Campín Stadium, known simply as El Campín, is the largest and most iconic football stadium in Bogotá. Its construction originated from an idea by the Colombian politician and liberal leader Jorge Eliécer Gaitán, who, as mayor of the city in 1934, spearheaded its creation. It was inaugurated in 1938.

Today, this emblematic sports venue meets the highest standards for hosting large-scale events, not only sporting but also entertainment. It boasts an earthquake-resistant structure, free Wi-Fi, and emergency protocols on par with major international venues.

In addition to being the home of local and national teams, as well as the Colombian national team during World Cup qualifiers, the stadium, also known as the "Colossus of 57th Street," has hosted concerts by internationally renowned artists, including the "Concert of Concerts" in 1988, featuring up-and-coming bands from the region. Also featured were the shows by Guns N' Roses in 1992, Bon Jovi in 1995, and Soda Stereo in 1996.

Currently, this iconic Bogotá stadium is open to Colombians and visitors alike, offering tours of its facilities, history, museum, and all the stories behind this majestic sports venue, which has a capacity of 39,000 spectators. The guided tour inside the stadium lasts a maximum of one hour per group. In the museum, visitors will find items related to the world of football, jerseys, and a comprehensive photo gallery with a focus on the El Dorado era, featuring vintage lineups of renowned teams like Santa Fe and Millonarios, as well as photos of great Bogotá football idols.

Tours will be scheduled via email at [email protected], with support from District officials who will explain the details of the sports complex, from its construction and improvements to its latest upgrades. Please note that a remodeling process will begin in 2026, which will include a new stadium with a retractable roof and a capacity of 50,000 people.
